I am in a spring cleaning dishcloth swap, here is what I am sending my partner (1crazyquilter)

I am a member of swap bot and received a lovely ball band dishcloth from my swap partner. She mad a monotone ball band pattern which surprisingly looked entirely different than the washcloths I make with 2 colors of yarn.

Old projects I forgot to post

I had neglected this blog for a while, and didn't post projects I had made. Here are pics of gifts I made for Xmas 2007. The socks are knit slipper socks for my sister in law and niece.

swap bot first swap

I recently joined swap bot. My first exchange was a dishcloth exchange. These are the pattern "grandma's favorite". Lots of yarn overs, but actually very simple. I knit these on vacation on the beach in Jamaica. Sent to kmiller799

These are dishcloths I knit for my friend Marion.She just received  job promotion and we went out and celebrated at a local Indian restaurant.The pattern of the 2 on the right is the star stitch. It gave it a real nice texture.

finger lakes fiber festival- Hemlock, NY 2007

I ventured out to the fiber festival and highly recommend the experience. A beautiful drive to Hemlock, NY and an overwhelming amount of fiber to behold. Here are some pics from the day...

My friend and co-worker Belinda is expecting and due in July so I knitted up a baby sized sweater and matching toy.

my tote exchange bag

Penny in Winnipeg Canada is the lucky recipient of this bag. It was a knitting experience- I got to knit on the beach on vacation, then had my needles confiscated by Mexican TSA agents. Then the washer broke the week it needed felting. But its done and in the mail to its new owner. Can you believe how much it shrunk!

well, the exchange is nearly over. I received this great bag ftom my partner Rachel. I love it- the colors are rich and the beads really give it a finished look. She also included a box of goodies -yarn, notions, patterns and candy.

International Tote Exchange 3

I received my partner assignment today for the new exchange, Penny in Canada. She wants a felted bag and I've selected a pattern and will shop for yarn tomorrow. Lucky for me she wants a felted bag ( I think they are easier)

IS IT A BIRD? IS IT A PLANE?

No , its my new umbrella swift and ball winder, my xmas present from Bill. Hanks of homespun yarn are held by the umbrella swift and the yarn is attched to the ball winder. The swift and ball winder turn simultaneously to produce beautifully wound balls of yarn. The gift has been put to good use as I took it to the last Stitch and Bitch meeting and wound 4 hanks of yarn for friends.

My tote exchange gift

Here's a picture of the bag I received from Chrissy in Singapore recently as part of the Internationl Tote Exchange2. Isn't it beautiful?

Bowls

Am experimenting with crocheting bowls out of unusual materials- just finished a rectangular bowl out of sportsman's line, now am working with household twine.

caps for the capital

Another crochet project- newborn caps for Save the Children's "Caps for the Capital". They are collecting handmade caps for newborn and are showing them to the white house prior to sending to needy countries where the will be placed on a newborns head.

Long Striped Scarf

I made this scarf to replace the very colorful one I made previously as that one was itchy. This one is made out of "suede" yarn- man made but very soft.

Tote Exchange Project Done

just mailed off the bag to my "pal". Hope she likes it- it was alot of work- check out the cable pattern not only on the front flap but running thru the strap!

Quick sweater

I had a lag between finishing my lace scarf and starting my project for the tote exchanage so I whipped up a sweater.
